“Becoming Legal”
Simmons Family
February 2026
Probably the most challenging aspect of the ministry is becoming legally established in the country that God has called us. Any missionary would probably who has experienced this would tell you that is as tasking as it is spiritual. Thankfully it so far it has gone smoothly. Another reality is the expense that comes with processing and in one sense, we are essentially living on two sides of the
world at once. When we arrive in Senegal in April, we will be doing many legal processes as well. (have a three-month time frame to work with) On my most recent trip to lease the apartment that the Lord blessed with I had previously prayed that the Lord would give me a thought or a verse for the trip. The Lord showed me John 12:35 “…for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.” The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said this is the people of Senegal. My wife and I made the determination when I got home that we will worship in darkness so that they may see the Light.
While most of the month was spent in Africa for me, my wife and children were able to attend our home church while I watched online. At the end of the month, I was given the opportunity to present at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle in Georgia before traveling and attending the Southwest Bible Conference in Texas.
Prayer Requests:
- Remainder of legal processes will go well and quickly
- Support to continue to raise (taken on First Texas Indian Baptist Church)
- Remainder of initial cost to be supplied
