“A Place to Stay”
Simmons Family
January 2026
It has been said that “getting there is only part of the struggle” why we’ve found that to be true, we consider ourselves to be a blessed family. As I reflect on the past year we no doubt had many great blessings, but we also had many trials as well. All I can say is we serve a God who is always faithful! As we begin 2025, we were certain the Lord was going to allow us to be on the field, long story short, that didn’t happen. As I sit here writing this letter, I give Jesus all the glory as I’m writing from our apartment in Senegal. The Bible says in Proverbs 24:27 “Prepare thy work…and afterwards build thine house.” I understand the context is talking about a literal field, but I believe it also speaks the responsibility of the husband to prepare the home for his family. So, with that thought in mind that is the great privilege I’ve been given while I’m here.
January proved to be a bit of tricky month for us. We begin the month in South Central, Virginia and finished at home. While in Virginia, we had opportunities to travel to different churches and present/preach. In one situation, there was a church who had an afternoon service where I was allowed to lead the service at the pastor’s request. We’re grateful for the Lord’s protection through dangerous weather and His provisions for maintenance on our vehicle. We returned to NC in the middle of the month to present/preach at a local church and to go to medical appointments.
Prayer Requests:
- Good health for family
- Finances for tickets and travel (initial cost)
- Fruitful meetings (multiple scheduled)
- More supporting churches
