“…Counteth the Cost..”
Simmons Family
May 2025
One of the unspoken things that every missionary has to do is to know the cost to go where God has called them. In Luke 14:28-30 a parable is given for someone who builds a tower and his responsibility to “…counteth the cost…” and this certainly could be said about the missionary. As for us we had every intention of going in the month of June including buying a ticket for myself but, we recently found out that the Senegalese government has certain requirements as it relates to finances.(don’t tell you what they are) After learning this we sought counsel from fellow missionaries and our pastor and we have made the decision to go as a family in October of this year. As of this letter we remain at 56% with one more church that has added us to their missions family, we believe if we get to at least 70% by then we will able to stay and be sustained in Senegal as we begin our language learning, (native language) and continue to learn French online.
The month of May was one of a slower months, yet productive. We begin the month with the conclusion of a missions conference in Mississippi where they took us on for support. We then returned to NC visit local churches. The following week we went to a camp meeting in western Tennessee before heading back home for dental and doctors appointments.
