Pioneering Work
Simmons Family
December 2024
It has always been our desire to be transparent as possible with those who faithfully pray and support us so, in this letter we want to give a clear and concise plan of our ministry goals. Above all else is our ultimate goal is to glorify Christ in everything we say and do. Another principle that is vital in understanding what the Lord has called us to do is that this is a “pioneering work” in that there is only one doctrinally sound church in Senegal and we will be essentially “starting from scratch” in the city of Thies. While there are churches/missionaries in the country, they do not have Biblical churches. Our hope and prayer is that we will establish relationships with the native people and begin a Bible Study. Intentionally praying in hopes of eventually starting a church. (likely won’t happen as quickly as in the US). Out of this we would like find a good moral man, see him get saved, and after properly discipling him, we will put him into the pastorate.
The month of December allowed us time to catch up on some things that get behind when you travel full-time. We appreciate your prayers for Hannah’s pregnancy so far our little girl is doing well, however, Hannah has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. We also had the opportunity to travel back and forth to see family and friends as well as be at our home church for Christmas. We visited multiple churches in our area and had the opportunity to preach/present at Freedom Baptist in Mocksville. We finished up the month, attending the Winter Jubilee in Cherry Grove.
Prayer Requests:
- Hannah and baby’s safety
- Full Schedule
- Support
- Safety for travel
