“Give Me this Land”
Simmons Family
August 2025
The people of Senegal need a doctrinally sound church to worship! I recently heard the testimony of a long-term pastor who prayed a simple prayer, “Lord give me this land” where his church remains today. Our prayer is the same for the people of Senegal but, more than the land, we are praying the Lord gives us a deeper burden for their souls, and favor with them that in the end only the Lord gets the glory! We’ve been in contact with a local realtor, (professing believer) who is currently assisting in finding housing so we certainly appreciate your prayers in that matter. An answer to prayer is that we have received Yeliah’s passport and her health is trending in the right direction after spending a week in the hospital.
We began the month of August with a return to Louisiana to attend Camp Hope’s Back to School Bash. Also, we were able to update Calvary Baptist in Sulphur, please pray for them as they are having in candidates for their pastorate. Bro. Wayne Dartez had us in to present and preach while we were in the area as well. The following week we went to Houston to attend a campmeeting at Shady Acres Baptist. (invited us to their missions conference) The Lord gave me the opportunity to go back to Mexico. (20 years after my 1 st mission trip there) Mt. Olive Baptist of Reynosa took us on for support.
Unfortunately, I had to leave Mexico to return to Houston due to Yeliah being in the hospital but, I’m thankful that the Lord sent Pastor Timothy Aguiar to a meeting he wasn’t planning on attending to sacrifice his time to take me back to Houston. We also want to make sure to say “thank you” to Bro. Gonzalez and Emmanuel Baptist who was gracious in allowing us to use their prophet’s chamber and send a love gift to help
hospital expenses.
We finished the month with a return to Louisiana where we were able to introduce the ministry to Fundamental Baptist in Livingston and present/preach at Temple Baptist in Baton Rouge. The Lord gave us an opportunity to go to Holly Hill, FL where we able to attend a campmeeting and Faith Baptist took us on for support.
